GEELONG SUICIDE PREVENTION PROGRAM

Our suicide prevention program is a program that provides support to Aboriginal Children and Young People that are suffering from high risk mental health and wellbeing.

The program is created to ensure Aboriginal Children and Young People have access to Strong Brother Strong Sister's Wellbeing Program for quick response access and supports. We link children and young people into our psychologist at Strong Brother Strong Sister for no cost sessions while our team of Aboriginal Mentors work with you to get access to a local doctor (GP) to gain access to a Mental Health Treatment Plan.

The Child and/or Young Person will also receive funded Strong Brother Strong Sister's 1:1 Aboriginal Mentoring program Koling wada-ngal (let us walk together) which is Strong Brother, Strong Sister's culturally safe program that offers one on one mentoring with a holistic approach to achieve only the best outcomes for Young Aboriginal people aged 4-26 years old.

Each young person that is referred, will have a personally tailored program designed specifically for that individual to work with their needs, strengths and passions to achieve only the best outcome for the individual set by the young person, mentor and services involved.

Anyone can refer in a Aboriginal Child and/or young person into this program. Our team will work with you to ensure the best most suitable supports to be provided to ensure only the best possible outcomes can be worked towards to be achieved.
